God showed up this weekend and lamb slapped with so much goodness!!! Barneys were amazing, talks were amazing, all of you were amazing, and God just so far exceeds amazing. I certainly found myself ending the weekend asking myself: if things hadn't gone as well as they did would I still have found myself here praising Gods name? I sure like to think so, but it was a good reminder for the times that won't look the way we expect- do we still proclaim God's goodness?
I came home and began journaling and this is the mental image I just can't get out of my head:
Heres what followed: God, Father, you are the person holding the pitcher. Jesus, you are the pitcher that carries whatever the Father fills you with. Holy Spirit: you are the water that fills ours and other's cup.
The person pouring the water (God) doesn't need the funnel to fill the cup but he chooses to use it! And it doesn't work if all the pieces aren't operating in accordance with what they were created to do.
Finally, sometimes you're the funnel and sometimes your the cup. Sometimes God fills us through someone else being the funnel and sometimes we are the funnel through which God flows. But what is so cool is that it feels SO good experiencing BOTH!!! It feels wonderful being filled up with Jesus through someone in our lives but it also feels so good to be the funnel! Because the water of the Holy Spirit flows through the funnel often times we feel just as filled up as the cup. Anyways, to say the least I'm a little overwhelmed with the goodness, joy, and love of the Lord!
P.S. Blog on Who is Jesus? coming soon...
