Team! I'm so sorry at the lateness of this post!
In last week's chapter I was just so completely blown away by the identity of Jesus as God. I think I've always felt a more natural inclination towards God instead of Jesus though I've always longed to feel more of that connection with the Son. SO to say the least this emphasis of Jesus as God incarnate totally expanded that adoration for Jesus and that desire to know him more and to learn from his example.
I also thought the angels as mediators between people was pretty cool but even cooler still that Jesus is the perfect mediator because he WAS human! (Page 119) Jesus is the superior mediator because, unlike angels, Jesus knows both what it is like to be God and what it is like to be human.
(Page 126)When you look at Jesus you see who God is; you see the character of God. God the Father looks at Jesus and says, "O God"
I think I also unintentionally create a hierarchy of the trinity- God, Jesus, Holy Spirit- which is of course ridiculous! But it is so exciting to see Jesus as God personified and then knowing that the Holy Spirit is God currently at work in this world. There's no hierarchy. And there is so much revelation of God. It certainly makes me fall that much more in love with Jesus knowing that the God I've always called upon is him. Basically, this chapter brought an extremely fresh light on old knowledge.
