His Muscles are Huge...

I thought it was interesting that D.J. talks about the evil one being a strong man, but Jesus as the Stronger man.  The imagery of the strong man being bound by the stronger man DJ 88-90 has been on my mind for days.  p.88 D.J. speaks of Jesus "liberating the hostages"and healing some kids and casting out demons.  "He has come to set the hostages free!"

The strong man's treasures are really the Stronger Man's.  The misfits, broken, weak, hurting, kids are REALLY Jesus the Stronger Man's treasures.  He sees the true value of (us).  He binds the strong man because he is STRONGER! He does not destroy the strong man, but He binds him.  Is this a torture of the evil one?  "This binding Jesus begins to do in the wilderness when Satan comes to test Him.  Three times the enemy tries to deflect Jesus from His mission.  Three times Jesus stands.  Jesus wins all the time, all three rounds and emerges form the wilderness with His Gospel:'The time is fulfilled, the Kingdom of God has come near."

I love how Jesus, being the stronger man is so humble, but He totally gets the Work done.  His muscles are huge.

Father, thanks for sending your Son to bind the strong man.  Thanks for calling us your precious treasure... you know how to take care of us, better than any strong man.  Thank you for being the STRONGER man!
