Sometimes I think reading these books I'm looking for "The secret... do this and follow this... so that I can..." Am I looking to graduate? NOPE! No one graduates from Jesus school. I'll never be done learning/re-learning.
As many of you have commented about dunking and drenching I was rocked by that as well. It's so interesting to read about how simple the language is made (now with the english translations) but how deep the original meanings were.
"Jesus keeps on infusing His followers with divine life and will keep on doing so until every fiber of our being radiates with the glory of God.
How's that for good news? (WIJp.32) "
"Spirit of God, Descend upon My heart"
-George Croly
Spirit of God, descend upon my heart;
wean it from earth, through all its pulses move,
Stoop to my weakness, mighty as Though art,
and make me love Thee as I ought to love.
Teach me to love Thee as Thine angels love,
one holy passion filling all my frame;
The baptism of the heaven-descended Dove,
my heart an alter and Thy love the flame.
Good news Indeed! Good news Indeed! Every fiber, every stitch infuse me Father until I [re]learning again and again.
Andy Clayton!!! I totally struggle with the same thing when it comes to reading books or listening to sermons- looking for how to do instead of how to be. I mean I think there can be a ton of value in what they hold but if we are looking to those before we are looking to Jesus we totally miss the point. I totally struggle with looking to these people that I see as knowing how to be the best christians as the biblical way to live and be. Thank Jesus for his incredible grace :)
ReplyDeleteDoing follows being-thanks for the reminder Andy and Katy
