How often I am like the crowds asking Jesus for the bread I think I need. But Jesus comes to me and says, "here I am".
My child you hunger and thirst for what will satisfy when I stand before you as the SOURCE. You beg for scraps when I've given you the very wellspring of life. I am that which satisfies. I am what your heart is longing for. I am. Taste and see that I am good.
another thought: What if 2 Corinthians 4:7 read "we have this manna in jars of clay to show that this all surpassing power is from God and not from us" ... ya not as good as the original. And yet sometimes I still ask for that manna instead of God's presence, instead of His spirit inside of me. I settle for what does not satisfy because I can see it, because its safe. But no, we were made to be filled with the mysterious treasure of God's love, of the bread of life that satisfies, of his body broken that gives life.
I am further challenged that Jesus is the bread of life without which I CANNOT live. The choice isn't be totally satisfied in Jesus or kind of satisfied in the world. The choice is live or die.
The way to the tree of life has been opened, I am invited to feast, I am invited to be satisfied, I am invited to live.
